Where to stay
Fira and Imerovigli have caldera views and central locations; Oia is the most romantic; Kamari and Perissa are better for beaches and value.
Getting from the airport and port
Santorini Airport is 6 km from Fira. Athinios port, where ferries arrive, is about 10 km south. Taxis are limited, so pre-booking a transfer is strongly recommended.
Sunsets beyond Oia
Oia is famous but crowded. Try Imerovigli, Pyrgos or the Akrotiri lighthouse for equally beautiful views.
Beaches
Red Beach near Akrotiri and the black sand of Kamari and Perissa are the classics.
